Features

Bank reconciliation and month-end close, client by client

SureMonth works inside each client company's own ledger. It does the matching and drafting; your team reviews, approves and signs off.

Reconcile bank lines

Bank lines are matched against each client's own ledger.

  • Bank lines by bank API, or by PDF, Excel or CSV statement
  • Automatic matching to invoices, bills and payments, with auto-clear
  • A confidence score and the reasons for every match

Approve before anything posts

SureMonth drafts. An accountant decides.

  • Draft journal entries for lines that don't match
  • Nothing is written to a ledger until an accountant approves
  • Optional second approval above an amount you set
  • Partner, accountant, preparer and client roles
  • Audit trail of every suggestion, approval and write-back
  • Rules that learn from your approvals

Run the month-end close

See every client's close in one list and finish each one with a sign-off.

  • Firm dashboard with progress, unmatched lines, status, owner and close day for each client
  • A close checklist for each client company
  • Partner sign-off and a close pack
  • Client requests: ask a client for missing receipts by link

A workspace for each client company

Company documents live in a workspace that syncs both ways with the client's ledger.

  • Invoices, quotes and credit notes
  • Bills and expense capture
  • Recurring invoices and reminders
  • Two-way sync with the client's ledger
  • Exports to PDF, CSV, Excel, UBL, Factur-X and FEC
  • Logins for the client's own staff

Rules, the firm dashboard, client requests, close packs and sign-off, roles and second approval, bills and expenses, recurring invoices and client logins come with the Firm and Scale plans. Compare plans

Bank data, country by country

How bank lines reach SureMonth depends on where the client banks.

Bank API

Where open banking is live: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Kingdom and the EU/EEA, plus bank aggregators in the USA and Canada.

Statement files

Where there is no open banking, for example in Qatar, Kuwait and Oman, upload statements as PDF, Excel or CSV files.

Every account can fall back to statement files.
